V-Ray 3.3 for 3ds Max came out in the last days of 2015 and the new free update brought a real present of to the rendering artists with new and drastically improved features. Including 20-50% faster rendering for most scenes and introducing a new variance-based adaptive sampler (VBAS) for more uniform noise distribution, faster setup, and improved imagery for VR, VFX, and arch-viz workflows.
